These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the website www.edgebookkeeping.ca(the “Website”) and apply to visitors, prospective clients, and users of our services.

By accessing this Website or engaging Edge Bookkeeping, you agree to these Terms.

1. About Edge Bookkeeping

Edge Bookkeeping provides remote bookkeeping services to sole proprietors and incorporated businesses across British Columbia, including Kelowna and the Okanagan.

Our services are administrative and record-keeping in nature and are not a substitute for professional accounting, tax, or legal advice.

2. Relationship to Service Agreement (Important)

Clients who engage Edge Bookkeeping for services will be required to sign a separate Bookkeeping Services Agreement.

In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the signed Service Agreement, the Service Agreement will prevail.

3. Services Offered

Services may include, but are not limited to:

• Monthly bookkeeping
• Catch-up and bookkeeping cleanup
• Bank and credit card reconciliations
• GST and PST bookkeeping support
• Payroll bookkeeping and recordkeeping
• Preparation of records for the client’s accountant

Specific services, scope, timelines, and fees are agreed upon separately in writing.

4. No Professional Advice

Edge Bookkeeping does not provide:

• Accounting opinions or assurance services
• Tax advice or tax filing services
• Legal advice
• Financial planning or investment advice

You are responsible for consulting your accountant, tax professional, or legal advisor regarding filings, compliance, and business decisions.

5. Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for:

• Providing complete, accurate, and timely information
• Supplying all required source documents
• Reviewing bookkeeping records regularly
• Notifying us promptly of errors, changes, or omissions
• Retaining original records as required by law

We rely entirely on information provided by the client and do not independently verify its accuracy.

6. Accuracy, Reliance & Limitations

While reasonable care is taken in performing services:

• We do not guarantee accuracy or completeness
• We are not responsible for errors or issues caused by:
  • Incomplete or incorrect information provided by the client
  • Late delivery of records
  • Prior bookkeeping performed by others
  • Payroll, tax, or filing decisions made outside our scope
  • Third-party software or system issues

Our services do not constitute an audit, review, or verification.

7. Payroll Services Disclaimer

Payroll services are limited to bookkeeping and recordkeeping support based on information provided by the client.

The client remains responsible for:

• Payroll accuracy
• Timely remittances
• Compliance with employment standards and tax requirements

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• Edge Bookkeeping is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including penalties, interest, lost profits, or business interruption
• Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees paid for the specific services giving rise to the claim
• We are not responsible for outcomes involving tax authorities, audits, reassessments, or penalties

9. Third-Party Software & Tools

We may use third-party software to deliver services. We are not responsible for:

• Software outages or downtime
• Data loss caused by third parties
• Errors originating from third-party platforms

10. Confidentiality

We take reasonable steps to protect client information and keep non-public business information confidential, except where disclosure is required by law or authorized by the client.

11. Website Use & Intellectual Property

All Website content, including text, branding, and materials, is the property of Edge Bookkeeping and may not be reproduced without permission.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Website constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
